August 8-14, 2010

This August, we celebrated the 2nd annual Early Literacy Awareness Week. Held in conjunction with National Health Center Week, and ROR's Summer of a Million Books, this week is a time to encourage families to read together to foster a love of reading in our youngest children and prepare them for success in school. Last year, we kicked off the week with a proclamation from Mayor Bloomberg. This year we continued the tradition with legislative visits, author readings, and health fairs.
